Because we provide honestly, pure videos on our website in a syllabus form and all videos are being displayed on our WebPages directly from our own website. Maya Basics

Animation Basics

animation in Maya is the craze of most of the animators. It’s a great skill and it’s a fun as well at the same time. After watching this tutorial you will be able to animate simple objects and understand the preference of animation of Maya. There are many ways to animate an object in Maya such as keyframe animation, motion path animation, set driven keys, expression of animation and so on. Animation basics are necessary before starting the intermediate level animation lesson so you will have to understand first what facilities for making animation Maya provides us.



Character Animation in Maya

In Maya there is a great exposure to animate your characters with various methods, with the beginning of 3d software applications FK (forward kinematics) introduced. Soon after that IK (inverse kinematics) came into existence. Character Animation involves both of them time to time. Character Animation is the most interesting and difficult part of some 3d animation software application. If you have been using 3D Studio Max ever you must know that we face the troubles with our characters meshes when we want to animate them with complicated motions, but Maya has solved all of the problems at all and introduced the paint weight tool for smooth skinning the 3d characters. Normally we know that we’ll have to animate a walk however it’s not so simple. No doubt you can make a very good animation of walk cycle of some 3d model but when you will go ahead make more complicated movements such as drinking water, opening doors, dancing, fighting and so on you will automatically be familiar with the difficulties of meshes and skinning in the way. A character needs many things before being animated for example, You must have a very good mesh with 100 percent accurate topology and parameterization. You need to create joints that are bones of organic model You need to assign IK handles You skin your 3d model with joints weather you are using smooth skin or rigid skin options You will have to edit the skin weights with various methods, paint weight tool is one of the thousands ways You need rigging your model as proper as you can. Rigging is just like tying a puppet to the threads for creating movements You need to keyframe rigged objects or you need to adopt some other way of animation Thus you animate your organic characters.
